FOUNDER/ADMINISTRATOR
Ferdi,
received his Pre-Physical Therapy at the University of the Philippines
and graduated 1st in his class with Bachelor of Science
degree in Physical Therapy at Perpetual Help College of
Medicine-Philippines. At the 1989 National Physical Therapy Licensure
Examinations in the Philippines, he ranked #15 among his co-examinees
from other schools of the country and broke the school record by
becoming the first physical therapy graduate to be included in the elite
Top 20. Recently completed his Master of Science Degree in Exercise
Science/Cardiac Rehabilitation at Marshall University with a GPA of 3.92
(Summa Cum Laude in UG level). Regularly conducts educational and
academic lectures in pediatric rehabilitation, stroke rehabilitation,
Kinesiology and Neuro-anatomy in local and international universities.
Currently pursuing his doctorate degree and serving as Mentor to fellow
foreign-educated private practitioners. Held Director of Physical
Therapy and Rehabilitation Services positions in previous employments
and was a Physical Therapy Consultant at West Virginia Rehabilitation
Center (1993-1997). Founded Kanawha Valley Physical Therapy Center in
1995 (now Kanawha Valley Physical Therapy Center, PLLC) and is the first
Filipino-Therapist owned and operated out-patient rehabilitation center
APTA-Private Practice Section.
Areas of Interest/Specialty:
Brunnstrom Techniques and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation
Techniques in the treatment of stroke and neuro-pediatric conditions,
Peripheral Joint Mobilization Techniques, Exercise Physiology, Cardiac
Rehabilitation, Electric Balance and Equilibrium Approaches, Orthotic
Fabrication, Work Simulation and Hardening/Conditioning, Hand Therapy.
Executive Administrative Assistant

Furjhon David Sorongon
Executive Administrative Assistant
David has lived in West Virginia for nearly 18 years. He is a
sophomore at WVU and is majoring in exercise physiology with plans to
attend PT school. He began working at KVPTC in May of 2009 as the
Executive Assistant. This position makes him responsible for payroll,
payments, bills, and many other secretarial duties.

TOMORA
HOWARD
Front Desk/Marketing
Supervisor: Tomora graduated in 1989 and joined the United States
Navy.
She
started with KVPTC in December of 2008. Tomora has 15 years of
customer service experience

years was in the medical field and 5 years management. Tomora is
in charge of overseeing all front
desk
duties including registration, new referrals, and marketing.

Physical Therapy:

STEPHEN JEFFREY
Physical Therapy Coordinator & Aquatic Therapy
Coordinator
Stephen, is a 2003 graduate of Concord University, with a
Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training. He has been an employee at
KVPTC for four years. Stephen plans, organizes, directs, controls, and
evaluates all aspects of both departments. Stephen has experience
working with pediatrics, teenagers, adults, and geriatrics. Areas of
interests include: therapeutic modalities, taping, designing specific
water based therapeutic exercises, shoulder rehab, mechanical traction,
and rehabilitation of the knee.

TRISHA
COLLIER
Director of Occupational Therapy

Trisha, a recent graduate of Everest Institute is a Nationally
Registered Certified Medical Assistant. She is the recipient of the
Students Special Recognition Award and graduated with top honors. Trisha
has several years experience in the Adult MR/DD field and enjoys working
with this population.

Speech Therapy:

JENNIFER
WORKMAN
Speech Therapy
Coordinator: Jennifer was born and raised in Ohio and just
recently moved to West Virginia. She started with KVPTC in July, 2008
and brings with her 10 years experience in the medical field. 9 of those
years were spent managing a low income health clinic office, where she
was in charge of reception, secretarial, clerical and reporting duties.
Jennifer also has experience in medical billing, coordinating physicians
and nurses, data entry, and reporting to State and Federal entities, and
is an expert in customer service. Anyone interested in working in or
attending speech therapy is encouraged to contact Jennifer
