Ferdi received his Pre-Physical Therapy at the University of the Philippines and graduated 1st in his class with Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy at Perpetual Help College of Medicine-Philippines. At the 1989 National Physical Therapy Licensure Examinations in the Philippines, he ranked #15 among his co-examinees from other schools of the country and broke the school record by becoming the first physical therapy graduate to be included in the elite Top 20. Recently completed his Master of Science Degree in Exercise Science/Cardiac Rehabilitation at Marshall University with a GPA of 3.92 (Summa Cum Laude in UG level). Regularly conducts educational and academic lectures in pediatric rehabilitation, stroke rehabilitation, Kinesiology and Neuro-anatomy in local and international universities. Currently pursuing his doctorate degree and serving as Mentor to fellow foreign-educated private practitioners. Held Director of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Services positions in previous employments and was a Physical Therapy Consultant at West Virginia Rehabilitation Center (1993-1997). Founded Kanawha Valley Physical Therapy Center in 1995 (now Kanawha Valley Physical Therapy Center, PLLC) and is the first Filipino-Therapist owned and operated out-patient rehabilitation center APTA-Private Practice Section.
Areas of Interest/Specialty:
Brunnstrom Techniques and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation Techniques in the treatment of stroke and neuro-pediatric conditions, Peripheral Joint Mobilization Techniques, Exercise Physiology, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Electric Balance and Equilibrium Approaches, Orthotic Fabrication, Work Simulation and Hardening/Conditioning, Hand Therapy.
